I was sexually assaulted at a... ShellShocked said...<br />I was sexually assaulted at a gig nearly 3yrs ago. I had a witness and got the guy arrested. Police took our statements (my friend was asked how much I'd had to drink!) and took away the shirt I had tied around my waist so they could test for DNA to prove the guy had grabbed me. <br /><br />Later that same night, about 1 or 2 in the morning, the police station called to say they didn't need my shirt anymore but the case would be sent to the Fiscal.<br /><br />We finally made it to court. 2 or 3 false starts beforehand didn't help with the anxiety. <br /><br />Despite my witness, they decided it was NOT PROVEN. Apparently there was CCTV footage that was 'inconclusive'. <br /><br />I am certain that if the police had bothered to actually test my shirt then I would have gotten justice.
